Where it started

Since 4 March 1977 Clanmil has been providing high quality, affordable homes for people who need them.

Where we are today

Today we own and manage almost 5,900 homes for over 11,400 people across Northern Ireland - families, older people and those who need a bit of support to live well.

With an annual turnover of almost £48m and property valued at around £0.5bn we are one of Northern Ireland’s largest housing associations, employing 300+ people.

Where we’re going

Our ambitious Shaping our Future strategy will see us provide 1,400 more homes by 2026, including at least five more shared developments that give people the choice of living alongside neighbours from many backgrounds and traditions.

We need to make sure we have sufficient funds to deliver these new homes and to continue keeping existing homes up to date.

Regulatory Inspections

The Department for Communities (DfC) is the Regulatory Authority for registered housing associations in Northern Ireland. The Housing Regulation Branch within DfC undertakes this regulation activity on behalf of the Department and seeks to protect the interests of tenants, homeless people and others who use the services provided by registered housing associations.

We have been awarded the highest possible rating “1 – meets the requirements” by DfC for our operations in 2021/22
