Moving In

There's lots to think about and organise when you move into a new home.

You'll be excited to get your keys and start unpacking but remember to take meter readings for your gas and electricity the day you move in and contact your supplier to tell them your meter reading.

Arranging insurance cover for your belongings, including carpets, curtains and flooring should be at the top of your to-do list. We don't insure your home contents so it's up to you to buy insurance cover so that they are protected if there's a leak, fire or accidental damage. It will give you peace of mind and also cover you if some of your belongings are stolen.

There are lots of low-cost home contents insurance policies available and our money advice team can assist you with this.
