Clanmil Announces New CEO Posted on 24 August 2021

Carol McTaggart has been appointed as the new chief executive designate of Clanmil Housing Group, one of Northern Ireland's leading housing associations.

Having joined Clanmil over 30 years ago, Carol worked her way up through the organisation and has been development lead at Clanmil since 1997. In her current role as Group Director of Development she has led an ambitious development programme that has seen the number of homes Clanmil provides grow from 945 to more than 5,500.

When Carol takes up her role towards the end of the year, she will be responsible for delivering on the Group's ambitious five-year strategy which includes providing a further 1,400 much needed high-quality homes and services that really make a difference for people and communities. She will be ably supported by the organisation's new Chair Paul Fiddaman, who took up the role earlier this month having been on the Clanmil Board since 2013 and Vice Chair since 2018.

Announcing Carol's appointment, Paul Fiddaman, Chair of the Clanmil Housing Group, said:

"I am delighted to confirm that Carol McTaggart has been appointed chief executive of Clanmil to succeed Clare McCarty, who retires later this year after 37 years of dedicated service.

Her drive, passion and enthusiasm together with a detailed understanding of the housing sector and her intimate knowledge of Clanmil itself, make Carol the ideal person to take Clanmil forward.
